Approval of the import and/or use of the LMO(s) with conditions
some confinement measures:
• minimum 6 m border row of non-genetically modified oil seed rape that flowers simultaneously
• minimum 100 m isolation distance to oilseed rape fields
• 200 m isolation distance in case no border rows are sown
• pollen compatible plants must be eliminated within the isolation distance before anthesis
• machines in contact with LMO must be cleaned after use in order to minimize the possibility of unintended loss and spillage of seeds
• fertile plant material must be carried in closed and clearly marked repositories; during transport any loss and spillage shall be avoided
• genetically modified oilseed rape seeds may be stored outside a laboratory only if stored in a closed and marked container. Inspection and control authorities must be informed about the storage site.
• border row plants may be destroyed after anthesis of the LMO but before seed maturity; if destroyed at seed maturity, these plants/seeds need to be handled as LMO seeds/plants.
• remaining fertile plant material must be destroyed. Remnants may be chopped and distributed on the release site. A 4-week period is obligatory before any soil-turning tillering. If necessary, irrigation shall be applied in order to support seed germination during these 4 weeks. Several shallow tillerings shall destroy any germinated oilseed rape seedlings before sawing of the next crop.
• no oilseed rape cultivation on this site including the border row area for at least 3 years. This site including a 10 m wide area outside the border row area must be thourougly controlled on the appearence of volunteers. These need to be destroyed before anthesis. In case of volunteers in the last year of monitoring, the oilseed cultivation is interrupted for another year.
control of release site and border row area for volunteers 1 year after end of experiments, volunteers have to be destroyed
note: not for food or feed purposes

In addition to the proceeding the notifier proposed in the notification, the specific conditions listed above are necessary and sufficient to ensure that the field trial remains restricted in time and space.
